Cantata Singers is currently looking for spring 2019 interns.
Cantata Singers is seeking an intern to support day to day administrative operations, with a focus on development and marketing. Interns will have the opportunity to see from the inside how a small nonprofit arts organization is run, with exposure to all aspects of nonprofit management including concert production, general administration, fundraising and development, educational outreach, and finance. Tasks will include interaction with staff, board, volunteers, patrons, and artists.
Internship projects include:
Development: Assist the Development and Public Relations Manager with planning and executing Cantata Singers’ biennial Gala and Auction & After-Party; includes soliciting auction donations, preparing auction materials, and assisting with promotional initiatives; assist with annual fund campaigns; database management.
Marketing: Provide support to the Development and Public Relations Manager in all marketing and public relations efforts for the upcoming season; update website content; update social media and calendar listings; assist with preparing and executing promotional plans for the upcoming season; research and work on other marketing opportunities; assist with day-to-day office operations, including tasks in customer service (taking ticket and subscription orders by phone, answering customer inquiries); general administration.
Production and General Operations: Assist the Marketing and Finance Associate with day-to-day office operations, including tasks in customer service (taking ticket and subscription orders by phone, answering customer inquiries); digitizing program history for Cantata Singers' archives; general administration. Work with the Production Manager to prepare concert performances.
Education: Assist the Education Manager in reviewing and participating in the upcoming year of the Classroom Cantatas educational outreach program.
Qualifications: Creativity, initiative, and strong attention to detail Strong writing and editing skills Demonstrated strategic and critical thinking skill Ability to work independently Working knowledge of the performing arts patron Past experience with fundraising, marketing, and customer service Knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus
