Directions for Classroom Cantatas performances

To Henry Dearborn Middle School

35 Greenville Street, Roxbury  (617) 635-8412

·      Take Mass. Ave. away from the river towards Roxbury.

·      Turn right onto Harrison Street. This is the intersection just before the Boston Medical Center spans Mass Ave.

·      Follow Harrison through several intersections, and turn left onto Dudley Street (a Fire House will be on your left).

·      Turn right onto Greenville Street (the 2nd immediate right; the first right is an alley).

·      The school is at the end of the block on the right.  You can park on Greenville, or take the first right past the school and find the parking lot behind the school.  (You will need to walk back around to enter the school at the Greenville entrance.) Go up one flight of stairs and turn right.  Mrs. Choukas’ 6^th grade class is the first room on the left.

To Emerson Elementary School

6 Shirley Street, Roxbury  (617) 635-8507

·      Take Mass. Ave. away from the River towards Roxbury.

·      Turn right onto Harrison Street.  This is the intersection just before the Boston Medical Center spans Mass Ave.

·      Follow Harrison through several intersections, and turn left onto Dudley Street.  (There is a Fire House on your left at this intersection.)

·      On Dudley, you come to a fork in the road where there’s a big church straight ahead. 
There are actually two forks here: 

-     At the first fork, bear right to stay on Dudley (Dudley is the big street; the other street is quite small). 

-     At the second fork, bear left to stay on Dudley again.  (The right fork is Blue Hill Ave.)

·      Shirley Street is the fourth or fifth street on the left.  You’ll see the school and playground at that intersection.  Shirley Street is one way the wrong way.  Either park on Dudley, or go one more block to turn left on Rockford, then make two more lefts to get back to Shirley. 

·      Coming up Shirley going towards Dudley, the Emerson School is on the right, just before the end of the block.  Ring the bell at the door, and go to the second floor.  Mrs. Kiley’s 4^th grade class is straight ahead at the end of the hall.

To Shirley-Eustis House

Follow the above directions to Emerson Elementary.  The Shirley-Eustis House is the big mansion across the street from the school.

To Fenway High School / Boston Arts Academy:

174 Ipswich Street, Boston, MA  02215  (617) 635-9911

·        In Boston, from the intersection of Mass. Ave. and Boylston Street (near Hynes/Auditorium stop and Berkeley School of Music), take Boylston Street towards the Fenway. 

·        Go one block and turn right onto Ipswich Street.

·        Follow Ipswich Street around and the school will be on your left.  Parking is available on the street that abuts Ipswich Street, opposite the school.  You’ll be right behind Fenway Park.

·        The building is shared with the Boston Arts Academy.  Go through the front door, sign in, and meet the Crossroads 9^th graders in the Auditorium, which is just off the lobby.

To Jeremiah E. Burke High School:

·      Take Mass. Ave. away from the river towards Roxbury.

·      Turn right onto Harrison Street. This is the intersection just before the Boston Medical Center spans Mass Ave.

·      At Dudley Street (a Fire House will be on your left) continue across and, bear slightly left onto Warren Street.

·      Follow Warren St. awhile until it merges onto Blue Hill Avenue and immediately turn left onto Washington Street.  The high school is on your left.
