Alan McLellan

Alan McLellan discovered the joy of singing early in life, as a boy chorister in Vancouver, Canada. Over the years, he has performed with the Phoenix Chamber Choir of Vancouver, Cantata Singers of Vancouver, Cantata Singers of Ottawa, Pro Coro Canada of Edmonton, and many church choirs. Alan joined Cantata Singers (Boston) in 1998. He holds a Master of Music Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Alberta, Canada. In the midst of all this choral music, he has also been active as a soloist.

Past appearances with the Cantata Singers Chamber Series include A Kurt Weill Cabaret in 2008. In opera, Alan has performed the role of the Vicar in Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring, at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. His pop music experience includes two years with the 5-man professional a cappella ensemble “Voce” in Edmonton, Canada. Alan is currently Music Producer and Announcer at 99.5 WCRB, Boston’s Classical Music Station, a service of WGBH.
