“Cantata Singers is not just a choral organization where people come to hear great music. It's a community of passionate musicians that can open your heart and your mind to find a new way to connect to music through the ages.”—Jeffry George, Executive Director
What we look for in our staff: the ability to imagine, the energy to create and explore new ways to promote classical music.

Internships
Marketing and Public Relations Internship
Cantata Singers is seeking a marketing and public relations student intern for Summer 2011.
WHO WE ARE and WHAT WE DO
Cantata Singers was founded in 1964 to perform the cantatas of J.S. Bach—a body of works largely unknown at that time. Since then the group has expanded its horizons to include repertoire from the 17th century to the present day. Winner of the ASCAP/Chorus America Award for Adventurous Programming of Contemporary Music, the organization is dedicated to challenging programming and the commissioning of new works, including John Harbison’s Pulitzer Prize-winning The Flight Into Egypt. The group has also recorded music of Schütz, J.S. Bach, Stravinsky, and many contemporary composers. Under the musical direction of David Hoose, the 44-member Cantata Singers chorus and orchestra presents a four-program subscription series in New England Conservatory’s Jordan Hall, as well as a chamber series under the direction Allison Voth. In addition to concerts, Cantata Singers sponsors an educational program called Classroom Cantatas, which enables students in public schools to compose, rehearse, and perform their own songs.
